Ola neighbors, It's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at the vehicle specific wiring harness piggyback for the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite, on a 2022 Ford F-250. Having vehicles specific harness is going to allow you to plug in directly to your factory tow plug on your vehicle. And this does come with the kit and you can splice this in, but I'm a big fan of the plug and play aspect of having a vehicle specific harness, and that way you know it's gonna be hooked up correctly and you're not having to go back and troubleshoot. As opposed to our included harness, the vehicle specific one actually has a very nice OEM plug and a nice sheathing that goes around it, and that's gonna protect these wires from any chafing that might make contact in the dash. Now, I'm gonna show you how that harness makes this installation nice and easy. The first part of the installation is really planning it out how you want it to look and how it's going to sit on your dash, so, here we have the trailer brake kinda spacer here, and that's gonna be nice, it gives it a good look on the knob. more

Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today, on our 2013 Ford C-Max, we're going to be showing you how to install the Roadmaster Towed Vehicle Charge Line Kit. But before we do that, why don't we check it out and make sure you know, that this is going to be the kit for you So charge line kit is really going to accomplish one thing and that's to make sure that your battery in the C-Max is always topped off and it's always, has full juice whenever you're flat towing it behind your motor home. And that's something that's really important, you know, because when you get to where you're going, you want to have that confidence on that you can just turn the key and, you know, start your car right up. And with that said, the reason that the battery can get depleted whenever you're flat towing it is because generally speaking, just about every breaking system out there is gonna use battery power to operate, all right. And so, whenever you're going down the road for hours on end, and that breaking system is constantly taking a little bit of juice here and there, you know, it don't take that much time for your battery to run flat, you know, and then you gotta go through the trouble of, you know, pulling a charger out, or getting a jump box, or cables, bothering someone to help you and everything else. more

Hi there, Ford owners. Today on your 2020 Ford Escape, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install Roadmaster's Charge Line Kit. And this is what our charge line kit looks like when it's installed. It isn't gonna seem like a whole lot in the kit because really we just need to get power from our motor home to our battery, but we also need to make sure that we're doing it appropriately that's gonna keep our vehicles safe. So in your kit, you're gonna receive an appropriate gauge wire that's gonna have enough diameter in it to allow proper current flow to reach your battery and charge it up. We also need to make sure we've got an appropriate gauge circuit protection. more

Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit Installation - 2021 Ford Escape- Video
Hey everybody, how's it going Today we're gonna be going over and showing you how to install the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line kit here on a 2021 Ford Escape. So if you're wondering why we're at the rear of the vehicle, normally we'd be installing these up under the engine bay, but for our Escape here, the hybrid model in particular, the 12 volt battery is located here in the trunk. Now, unfortunately, this means that we're gonna have to supply some extra wire that doesn't come in our kit in order to reach from the rear to the front of the vehicle. So this is what our battery charge line looks like. There's not much to this kit at all. We have a circuit breaker, which is going to help protect the vehicle's battery from any issues on the motor home. more

Well, the thing is if your coach is already set up for an Air Force One Braking System, it don't make much sense to change everything just to pull your vehicle. Installing a charge line kit on your vehicle is going to ensure that your battery stays topped up when flat towing behind your motor home. And this is really important because if you're going on extended long trips and your battery goes dead, it may not activate the braking system that's in your vehicle here, which could hinder your stopping performance. So keeping this topped up's going to ensure that your braking system's gonna activate and you're gonna be able to hop in your vehicle once you get to your destination and fire it up with no issues. If it's discharged, it may have enough juice in it to operate the braking system, but once you get to your destination, if you don't have it topped up, it may not have enough to crank the engine over. more

Hey, everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2020 Ford Ranger, we're gonna be taking a look at, and showing you how to install the Demco towed vehicle battery charge wire kit. So the main reason I always recommend using a charge wire kit is so your battery is not drained down whenever you get to your destination. And that happens because nine times out of 10, the vehicle braking system that you're using actually draws power from your vehicle's battery to operate. So every time you apply the brakes and that breaking system activates, it's gonna take a little bit of juice from your battery. So let's say if you don't stop every now and again and start up your car, let that battery charge up, or if you're on a multiple day trip, leave everything hooked up, and you get to your destination, unhook your vehicle, sometimes your battery can be drained and be dead. more

Hi there, Ford owners paying your 2021 Ford F450. We're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install Reese's OEM prep package to above-bed fifth wheel plate adapter. So getting an adapter like this, that will go into your factory puck, gets really great if you have an existing fifth wheel at home that you wanna be able to reuse, or if you just prefer that standard style and it does kind of offer a little bit more versatility 'cause if you've got this adapter, you can always go from one to the other. So if you wanna make changes in the future, you could always make those changes, and you can hook up to just about any type of fifth wheel with this. And, just like with a regular fifth wheel, this part here is gonna be removable. So it's nice if you wanted to have full truck bed access again, put it back to factory, you can just pull the pins located on each side. more

So the whole purpose of this kit is to provide you with not only a seven way round connector, but also a four way flat connector. So it's really convenient. These are the most common types of trailer hookups. Roadmaster Automatic Battery Disconnect Installation - 2018 Ford Edge- Video
Instructor Today on our 2018 Ford Edge we're gonna be taking a look at, I'm gonna show you how to install the Roadmaster automatic battery disconnect and switch for towed vehicles with supplemental braking system. It's gonna allow you to shut your battery off, because the key has to be on for it to be in towed position. So you'll hear it click, and if you watch your dash, it's gonna shut everything off so it doesn't run our battery down. First thing we're gonna do is find a place to mount your battery shut off solenoid. You can see where I've mounted, this is the inside engine compartment on above my shock tower. RoadMaster 2nd Vehicle Kit with BreakAway Installation - 2018 Ford Edge- Video
So in our 2018 Ford Edge you're gonna be taking a look at, I'm gonna show you how I installed the Roadmaster second vehicle kit with breakaway for Brakemaster assistance. This is what our second vehicle kit's gonna look like when it's installed. This cylinder here is gonna hold air. It's gonna get air from a tube that's running down to an L-bracket and fitting on the front of the vehicle, and that air is coming from the RV itself. Once it is passed through here, it passes through another line that is ran to the inside of the vehicle and ran into another cylinder. That cylinder then presses the brake when the brakes are applied in the RV while the vehicle is being flat-towed. more

Today on our 2019 Ford Ranger, we're going to be taking a look at, and showing you how to install, the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for towed vehicles.Now in our case, our charge line kit actually hides nicely underneath our radiator cover, that way we don't have to see it. But, to take a better look at it, I'll go ahead and pop this off, and we can check it out.The charge line's going to be a really simple kit. It's just going to consist of a little bit of wiring and the breaker that we have mounted right here out of the way. The purpose of the charge line kit is to more or less trickle charge or maintain your Ranger's battery whenever you're flat towing it down the road. That's important because your braking system is going to use your Ranger's battery power to operate whenever you are towing it. more

What the charge line is designed to do is while your vehicle's being flat-towed, it allows your RV to trickle charge your battery. The reason you would want this is because the breaking system that is required in any vehicle being flat-towed is going to draw power from the battery. So adding the battery charge line, again allows your motor home to charge the battery while the braking system is pulling power from it.First thing we need to do, if you don't have your fascia removed, it's going to make it easier if you install this while your fascia is off, like when you're installing any other components for your flat tow set up. more

Ryan: Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer.Today on our 2015 Ford Explorer, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles.So, the reason for a charge line kit is really simple. Whenever you're flat towing down the road, and every time your braking system operates, it's going to use the Explorer's battery power. So if you tow for a long period of time, the battery can potentially wear down and be dead once you arrive at your destination. That's not going to happen with the charge line kit, because that's going to, essentially, more or less trickle charge that battery and keep it charged up. That way, the braking system don't drain it.So, although a really simple component, in my opinion, it's a really important one because the last thing you want to do after a long trip is disconnect your Explorer and come to find out that the battery is dead. Then you got to go through the trouble of finding some jumper cables, potentially bothering somebody else to give you a hand, find a jump box. more

Today on our 2004 Ford F-250 we're going to be taking a look at, and showing you how to install the Reese fifth wheel trailer hitch with the custom installation kit.Now just to give you guys an idea on how the rails actually look and work, I went ahead and dropped in our fifth wheel. Now the great thing about these rails is that they're going to work with many different types of fifth wheels, as you can see here. And now with the fifth wheel out of the way, we can take a better look at the rails themselves. The rails are going to have three openings here on each side, and that's going to work with most common fifth wheel hitches because that's where those hitches actually drop into place.Now these are made out of steel and they're really heavy duty and should last a long time. more

So now on our 2018 Ford Focus, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Road master battery Charge Line Kit.So this is what the Charge Line Kit is going to look like. Now the reason a Charge Line Kit is beneficial to you is because whenever you're flat towing your vehicle, the braking system is actually going to be hooked up to your vehicle's battery and that's where it's going to get its power from. So over time as you're driving down the road for hours, this battery is going to be constantly getting drained and not charged back up.Well with the Charge Line Kit, it's going to use the power that is generated by your motor homes charging system, to run it back and more or less trickle charge your battery. That way whenever you get to your campsite and disconnect, you're not going to have to worry about your battery in your car being dead, potentially have to go around and ask for a jump to get it going.And it's going to eliminate the need every so often to have to stop on your road trip, get out, start your car up, make sure everything's good, but this is just something you're not going to have to worry about. So I am using our Timberline towers for our roof rack system and I'm using the HD Yakima bars as well. And to be honest, these towers are very easy to install compared to some of the others. It just wraps around your existing raised rails and it makes the installation really easy.So on this Expedition we will have a lot of capacity for passengers on the inside. more

Today, I'm going to walk you through how to install the Reese Universal Base Rails and a Quick Install Custom Bracket Kit on our 2019 Ford F250.This is what our base rails are going to look like in the bed of our truck. You can see they're really not going to take up a whole lot of space. They're only going to stick up about an inch and a half. So, they're really not going to come up too high. This kit will replace your worn out and damaged bushings on your factory sway bar for your 53 chassis. It's not only going to be a replacement for damaged bushings, but it's also going to be an upgrade because you're going from the hard rubber that you used to have to the more durable and dampening resistant polyurethane bushings. They are going to be slightly larger and a little thicker to help provide more dampening than your original rubber did. In addition to the bushings, you also get a replacement shackle. more

Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit Installation - 2014 Ford Fusion- Video
Shane: Hi, I'm Shane with etrailer.com. Today I'm gonna be going over how I installed the Roadmaster battery charging line kit on our 2014 Ford Fusion. It's gonna allow us to charge our battery while we flat towing the vehicle because our braking system requires a power source to work. Your kit's gonna come with one single red wire and a breaker. First you need to mount your breaker, I mounted mine here which is close to the positive side for my battery. You're gonna take your wire, you're gonna extend it from the center post on your six pole plug on the front of the vehicle to the copper wire. more

Rhino Rack Roof Rack Installation - 2017 Ford Transit T150- Video

Today, we're going to be taking a look at and I'm going to show you how to install Rhino Rack Roof Rack with our Vortex Aero Crossbars on our 2017 Ford Transit T150. For this particular installation, you have your fixed mounting bracket, which mounts directly to the roof of the vehicle and then for our Vortex Aero Crossbars to work, with our fix mounted legs, we're going to have the RLTP adapters.What a roof rack is designed to do, it's going to allow us to free up space inside the vehicle, to allow us to carry on top of the vehicle. Now, for our particular installation, you can see our spread has to be a little bit wider. Typically, your crossbar would be here. This would accommodate your roof baskets, your cargo carriers, but for our particular installation you can see we have a vent in place.Our customer is going to be using this as their camper. more

Hey guys. Today on our 2018 Ford Fusion, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Moki door step. Now this thing right here simply clips on to your door hinge and provides you with an extra step to access your accessories or simply just the roof of your vehicle, in this case being our Fusion.So with it in place, we can step up on it, and it's going to hold us nice and sturdy. We don't need to worry about it collapsing or flexing or anything like that, and like I said, we'll be able to access our accessories, maybe like our bike rack here, a kayak, or even a cargo basket. It will also come in handy for when washing your vehicle. So what it's going to do is prevent you from stepping on your seats and making those dirty, and not only can we use it for the front, but we can also use it for the back. more

Today on our 2018 Ford Transit T-250, we're going to be looking at, I'm going to show you how to install the Universal Installation Kit for trailer break controllers. Part number ETBC7.It allows you to put your break controller up to a vehicle that does not already have a seven-pole plug, or a factory tow packaged on it. This gives you that option to put that tow package in there and hook up your break controller.Our kit is also going to give us a seven-pole plug, which this allows us to use trailer brakes, or a break controller on a trailer with trailer brakes. It's also going to give us our four-pole in case we're towing a trailer with just normal four-pole plugs. Our seven-pole plug is going to have a spring loaded lid. It's going to have foam on the inside that's going to seal around this edge and keep any dirt and debris from getting inside. more

Today on our 2018 Ford F-150, you're going to be taking a look at the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for towed vehicles. This is what our charge line looks like when it's installed. What you need to do is you're going to have a breaker in one long, red wire. What this is going to do, this is going to allow you to charge your battery on your F-150 while it's being flat-towed.As far as the installation goes, it's a pretty simple, straightforward installation. You're going to have a breaker, you're going to have a couple ring terminals for your breaker, and you're going to have one large ring terminal for your battery side. You're also going to have one roll of red wire, and that's going to run down to your 6 pole plug on the front of the vehicle. more

Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit Installation - 2018 Ford Expedition- Video
Today on our 2018 Ford Expedition, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles, part number RM-156-25.So, here's what our charge line kit looks like once we have it installed. It's going to take the 12-volt power from our RV and transfer it through this breaker to the positive post on our battery so that we have a constant trickle charge going to our battery, so when we get to our destination, our Expedition won't be dead. Our charge line kit's going to provide 15 amps to avoid over-charging our battery, and it's going to hook directly into our six- or seven-way on the front of our Expedition. That way when we plug up for our lights, our 12-volt power source will be already plugged in. Just keep in mind you do need a 12-volt power source at the back of your motor home in order to give it power. If you don't have 12 volts at the back of your seven-way of the motor home, we do have a charge line kit for the motor home available here at etrailer.com. more
